203: Yep, we had a fight.

We took a month off, and this episode explains why.

We weren’t sure if we were going to talk about it on The Inner Tube, but we decided it was only fair, since this show is all about documenting the highs (AND the lows) of content creation.
BUT BEFORE we get into all of that, we talk about the eDgY return of Underoath (they swear now– super eDgY!)

And Kevin also shares his experience at the red carpet premier of the film I Can Only Imagine. He ended up having a two hour discussion with Alex Kendrick (Courageous, Fireproof, War Room, etc.) I know– can you believe it?!

This is maybe our favorite episode we’ve ever recorded. Hope you all enjoy it

Well if you ever do Bargain Bin again, you have to finish Miracle Man, because I have been waiting weeks for that video, and I will continue to wait until the review of Miracle Man is complete.

I had this playing as I was doing stuff around the house, and my mom was like, “Why are they just working out their problems while recording...

Nonetheless, a wonderful and quite honestly hilarious comeback episode. I’m also glad you don’t hate each other... Although, having a show where you two hate each other could have an interesting dynamic to it... 🤔

My top seven takeaways from this episode:
1. THE INNER TUBE! THE INNER TUBE! GET ALEX KENDRICK ON THE INNER TUBE! Why wait until Kevin "has his own show" specially dedicated to the task? Mr. Kendrick would absolutely love being on a show like this. It would be an episode that would rival Episode 088 with Ace McKay because of the style that the interview would have. Interviewing all of the Kendrick brothers simultaneously would be an option too. If you had to record the interview on location, so be it; Josh loves going on trips.
2. Personally, I'm glad Josh "put his foot down"; I know that such a make-or-break moment will only strengthen Josh & Kevin's friendship in the long run. Hopefully it will help Kevin to stop pushing the envelope with Josh's conscience in general, because there is evidence that Josh's conscience has been slowly sullied over the past 4+ years of hanging around Kevin. I think both Josh and Kevin will make some adjustments, be a little more considerate, and treasure their friendship more going forward. Better to have a friend to make jokes with than to have jokes without a friend.
3. Don't worry about deleting video files, Kevin. A friendship like the one you have with Josh is worth more than the AdSense those videos would have made. (Josh can relate to deleting some content that he wishes he didn't, too. #DearFutureJosh)
4.As much as I missed the Inner Tube these past fewb weeks, I think that not r-e-c-o-r-d-i-n-g new episodes during that span was the right thing to do. Those hypothetical episodes probably would have felt more out-of-place than Episode 186 (sentiment encapsulated at the 38:28-40:39 mark of that episode). In addition, sometimes delayed quality does trump consistency...at least, that's what Episode 183 led me to believe.
5.This may have been the most important Inner Tube episode ever, but it wasn't the best. It was a really good episode, but I'd contend that Episode 180 at BlimeyCon was far and above a better episode. It's the only one with Adler in it...and there are other reasons why it was better, but I think I've made my point (at least, according to Adler).
6. You forgot to mention Corban & The Shownotes (that's also the name of his musical act) in the outro of this episode. I'm sure you'll make up for it next week.
7. "Sounding not-edited but is actually edited" is what I aimed for when I submitted an audio question this week. I may have listened to tube much Kevin before making it, though, so a hypothetical transcription of what I sent in with the pretext "what would Kevin would have said" would probably be funnier than the audio clip itself. Oh, well. I guess I'll either have to work on my own comedic style or work on my Kevin impression. Speaking of Kevin's impression, he did a good job impersonating Kermit in this episode, if I recall correctly.

I knew I forgot something: I wanted to make a remark about 1:06:06-1:07:30 of this episode, and I want to be crystal clear on this: Christian brothers should never, ever feel ashamed asking each other about electric fans. No judgment whatsoever. Just like there should be no shame in asking about wheelbarrows (see Episode 185), microphones, or donkeys. I know there may be "social norms" that you feel obligated to abide by, but Christianity trumps society. Don't judge your brother. Thank you.

I await the day of the Grand Tom Woods Episode.

Also I've missed the inner tube but it was well worth the wait! I'm glad y'all have everything worked out now.
