Hey Josh, I agree with you on the debate between mac and pc for video editing. If I had the money, I would toss my pc in the trash for a mac. That being said, I know how to build a computer, and think that if you are going to use Adobe Premiere, that you should build it. Nvidia Geforce Graphics cards have cuda cores which Premiere uses. Most macs dont come with Nvidia Graphics. Otherwise I would agree with you, mac all the way.

Sorry, not just Nvidia Geforce cards. Its any card that has CUDA cores. Actually, Premiere will mostly only use Nvidia Quadro cards, which are made for Proffesionals. But theres a simple text file in the Program Files folder for Premiere which I think is called "Supported Cards" which you can add your card to by simply editing it to have another line with like:

I feel like you generalized a bit when you talked about PCs being slow. I use Windows and when I press the power button I can be using it 6 seconds later. I think Windows gets the short end of the stick because people compare cheap PCs to costly Macs. Spend as much money on a PC as you do on a Mac, and 9 times out of 10 the PC will be faster. Macs do tend to be a bit more stable, simply because the hardware and software are both made by Apple, whereas Windows is running on hardware from an array of manufacturers. Even with that said, if you do your research and pick up a good Windows PC, it can be just as stable as a Mac.

Yeah, he did generalize. The fact is, your pc probably has a SSD in it which is super fast in comparison to a HDD. The reason Josh said this is because almost all Macs these days come with SSDs. All the Macbooks do, and its an option for the iMac, Mac Pro, and Mac Mini. If you build a PC, put a SSD in it, it speeds up the computer ALOT.

Hey thanks for the comment Zane! I would have loved to include this on this next week's podcast, but we already recorded it. Anyway, I agree with you. I think that makes a lot of sense.

I have a PC and do video editing on it and it is slow and you do have to reset it every once in a while if you don't want it to be slow and when I was doing video editing on a MAC at a church and really enjoyed it and now want a MAC really bad especially since I'm starting a channel soon.

I have a Compaq Presario CQ57
I have been creating online content for nearly a decade including producing multiple audio podcasts and other audio productions, all on a Windows PC. And it works just perfectly. (By the way, it's Mac vs. Windows, not Mac vs. PC. PC stands for Personal Computer, which would also include Macs.)
